Angelo Feraudo

I work on open, programmable cellular networks, building software for O-RAN xApps and dApps, real-time radio resource management, and edge computing for 5G and beyond.

I’m a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute for Intelligent Networked Systems (INSI) at Northeastern University in Boston.

My research focuses on 5G-and-beyond cellular networks and the O-RAN standard. I build open-source software that makes the RAN programmable, from xApps running on the Near-RT RIC to dApps that bring real-time, AI-driven control next to the base station.

I received my Ph.D. from the University of Bologna in April 2025 and stayed on as a postdoctoral researcher until November 2025. During my Ph.D. I was a visiting researcher at the Department of Computer Science of the University of York (UK) and at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northeastern University. Before moving to cellular networks I worked on IoT security and federated learning.
